London Borough of Islington chooses MEL(UK)
17-Feb-2011
The Archway area within the London borough of Islington has been designated one of the Mayor of London's Low Carbon Zones. Low Carbon Zones are to be examples of best practice in reducing carbon emissions across a geographical area with a reduction target of 20.12% by 2012.
One initiative to help achieve the target is to support businesses, charities and other organisations by giving an 80% discount on the installation of T5 lighting. With energy savings of around 40%, it is both good in terms of combating climate change and saving the organisations money.
After numerous searches, Islington Council chose ME Lighting (UK) Ltd as the preferred provider and installer of the T5s. In addition to having an excellent product, staff at ME Lighting (UK) Ltd have been extremely supportive and accommodating in helping the project to be successful. The organisations which have had T5s installed are really pleased since not only is it saving them money on their electricity bills, the quality of light output improves the look of their premises.'
