The University of Winchester chooses ME-T5 adaptors
14-Dec-2010
The University of Winchester chooses ME-T5 adaptors to save energy and improve lighting in the following areas.
Main library & HJB building
The majority of the fittings converted in the library were quad 2ft T8 units & single T8 5ft units. Lux level readings were taken on the lower ground floor and in the library reception area.
The lux levels are comfortably above the HSE guideline requirements with the measured levels varying between 275 and 550 lux. The lux levels were recorded with ‘cold’ lamps. This indicates that the lux levels would be higher when measured at full operating temperature.
The staff response to the lighting was positive. The staff spoken to reported that they believed the light was ‘much better’ after conversion.
As can be seen from the light fittings, the adaptors are unobtrusive. Indeed, close inspection is required to identify any change to the fitting.
There have been no reported problems or issues in the library following the installation.
